A Note from Mrs. Breau

Dear Grade 6 Students and Families,

Just wanted to send you a quick message to say thank you for such a fantastic first term. I have so enjoyed being your teacher and getting to know all of you. We have shared so many good memories and have learned so much along the way.

Parents, as always, thank you so much for all your support this year. It is no wonder your kids are so wonderful, after meeting many of you! I am so blessed to be teaching at such a wonderful school and to be a part of such a supportive and loving community.

Friday was bittersweet. I am so excited to begin my new journey in life, but sad to leave such an amazing class. BUT, this isn’t goodbye. I will be seeing you all really soon!

Agenda Update & Math Review

Good Morning Everyone,

Here is a quick look at our week ahead and different due dates coming up this week.

Agenda:

Literacy:

Writing: We are working on our alien essays- We have been organizing our jot notes into a graphic organizers

Due Dates:
-Intro mini lesson will be on Tuesday, February 6th
-Conclusion mini lesson will be on Friday, February 7th
Due Dates
-Body Paragraphs due Thursday, February 8th
-Essay draft copy is due Monday February 12th - Peer editing will take place on this day
-Alien Share Day is scheduled for February 26th

Reading Workshop: We completed a reading assessment with a story called "Overcome"- we will be self assessing these this week
- We are continuing working with our novel Undergrounders


Math- Geometry Test on Thursday
- Blog review will cover BEDMAS and whole number multiplication and division - DUE WEDNESDAY
-Geometry review will be completed in class on Tuesday and Wednesday as we need protractors
- Our next unit of study will be fractions


Science:
-Alien creation day will be Wednesday - please bring anything that you think you would  need  for  this.
-We will be looking at the moon and the its phases this week
