Weekly Update

Weekly Update
Math- We completed our large numbers test today
- We will be moving into working with small numbers - focusing on decimal numbers to thousandths. We will be working with fractions and representing decimal numbers in expanded, standard and written form


Literacy-
Reading- We are working through our novel Wonder - Throughout the novel, we are focusing on a variety of reading strategies
**Remember to track those reading minutes ***

Writing- Paragraph writing and personal recounts
- This week we will also be working taking jot notes and turning those notes into paragraphs

Social Studies- We will begin our social studies project this week (project outline is posted to the blog)

Science- Biodiversity - We will be playing the game "Web of Life" outside on Friday

Upcoming Social Studies Project

Research Project
As part of our unit on “Canada’s Interactions with the Global Community” you are to complete a research project on a country identified as one of Canada’s major trading partners. You are expected to use the graphic organizer to complete the task.
From the list below, select a country that you would like to research. If a country you are interested is not on the list, it must be approved by your teacher. Use the graphic organizer to record your information and to write a bibliography.

Steps to Follow:
1.  Locate and record as much information as you can under each heading on the graphic organizer.

3.  Keep a record of all the resources you have used to complete this task (websites, resource books etc.)
4.  Using the information, you have located, creatively construct a presentation format that is approved by your teacher.

5.  Be prepared to present your findings to the class and to submit all your research notes for evaluation.

Most of you were able to add some personal info, as well as create some goals for yourself. Your challenge tonight is to log onto my blue print and show your parents your blueprint.
