Write a descriptive paragraph. Describe the way you look, personality traits, interests etc. Don't reveal your name. Lets see if we can guess who you are :) 

Agenda Note & Daily Challenge

Your daily challenge tonight, is to summarize the puzzle activity that we did in social studies. Don't forget to highlight some of the things that you have learned from this activity and to talk about what everything represented in the game (e.g. puzzle pieces, teams etc..). You may also reflect on different challenges that you faced as a group (stock market crash, flood, giving money to the government etc.) You also can give real life examples that are happening in our world now (e.g. talk about other countries or problems in the world etc.).


See you tomorrow! Don't forget to log those reading minutes (agenda calendar). Remember,  I am looking for you to be reading at home at least three nights a week.

Daily Challenge

Complete the following riddles below. Use the digits in the box to answer each number in the riddle. These ones are more complicated....remember to show GRIT!!

a) I am a 4 digit number greater than 9 000. My ones digit is 3 and my hundreds digit is the smallest prime number that is greater than 5. The sum of my digits is 20. What number am I?

Remember A Prime Number can be divided evenly only by 1, or itself.

b) I am a 5 digit number greater than 30 000 and less than 40 000. My first and last digits are the same. The sum of thousands, hundreds, and tens digits is 15. My tens digit is 4 times as great as my hundreds digit. What number am I?

c) I am a number greater than 40 000 and less than 60 000. My ones digit and tens digit are the same. My ten thousands digit is 1 less than 3 times the sum of my ones digit and tens digit. My thousands digit is half my hundreds digit and the sum of those two digits is 9. What number am I?

Weekly Update & Daily Challenges

Hi Everyone,

Just a reminder that the blog is a great way for not only you, but your parents to keep up to date on what is happening in our classroom. Your daily challenge for tonight is to show your parents the blog and have them leave a comment (doesn't have to be complicated) or a note in your agenda that they saw it. 

The week ahead:

Literacy - We will continue working on preparing for the 40 book challenge 

- Students will be writing the CASI assessment this week

- I am Poem - good copy due Friday 

Math- focus will be on place value and rounding whole numbers 

- Practice times tables for the name of the game (Round 3&4 this week)

Social Studies- Our first unit will be "Canada's connections to the World" - we will be focusing on trade as well as other ways we are connected to countries from around the world

- Hang onto those articles and souvenirs from other countries - we will be using them soon  

Art- Minecraft Selfies- due Friday

I am looking for 30 minutes of reading over the weekend. Please write your reading time in your agenda and get your parents to sign it. This will be worth signatures.

Daily Challenge

Hello grade six students,
Tomorrow please bring an artifact that represents you or something that you love. (e.g. could be a book if you like to read, a metal from a sports competition, a picture of your family etc.) You will get a chance tomorrow to share your artifact. Be creative!

Happy first day of  school everyone! Hope you had a great day, I know I did :) Welcome to our classroom blog! This is a great way for you to stay up to date on what is happening in our classroom.
