Schedule for Jan. 5th

Online Learning

 Happy New Year Everyone! I hope that you have enjoyed your break and had time to relax and recharge with your families. Welcome, to our first day of Online School! Well sort of .... For today, my goal is to just touch base with each you and make sure you have everything that you need in terms of technology. Please sign in on the stream to indicate that you have seen this message. We will be holding a Google Meet today at 2 p.m. The link for this, will be available right on our Classroom Banner. Your tasks for today:

 1. Math Review- Please complete in your notebook or online paper - You will get a chance to check your answers tomorrow. You can send me a picture of it, if you aren't able to do this, just click that you have finished it in the assignment 

 2. Social Studies Inquiry- Your inquiry assignment will be presented the first week back to school. Please review your slideshow and make sure it is perfect. Remember, you should be answering at least 5 open questions. Check your spelling and edit your work carefully. If you would like a conference you will get a chance to sign up for that this week. 

 3. Attend the Google Meet at 2 p.m.

 4. Remember, you have a cooking assignment due on January 11th. Both you and a parent need to complete the feedback form. Don't forget to take pictures. 

5. Find a GOOD book- you will need it this week for our reading workshop activities

Merry Christmas!

 Good Afternoon Everyone,

Just wanted to take an opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year. Here are some due dates that are upcoming in the New Year:

Health: Cooking Assignment (posted on Google Classroom) -due on January 11th

Social Studies Inquiry Project- We will begin presentations in the first week back in January

 Good Evening,

Here is a quick overview of  our final week.

 Math:

- We have been doing a quick unit on integers

-students will be having a quiz tomorrow 

-The rest of the week we will doing an introduction to patterning 

Literacy:

- We are working on procedural writing with our "Santa Manual"- They are due on December 18th

Social Studies: 

-Students have been working on and conferencing about their social studies inquiry presentation-We will be presenting these on the first week back to school

Health:

Over the holidays, students will be completing a cooking assignment to complement our health unit. More information will follow on this, later this week :)

Constructing Quadrilaterals Practice

Here is practice for constructing quadrilaterals.

1. Create a Rhombus named ABCD

All the side lengths are 4 cm

AD is parallel to BC  

AB is parallel to CD

<D & < B= 10˚

<A & <C= 170˚

2. Create a Rhombus named DEFG

All the side lengths are 8 cm

DG is parallel to EF 

ED is parallel to CD

<D & < E= 30˚

<F & <G= 150˚

 

3. Create a parallelogram named ABCD

AB is parallel to CD - side lengths are 6 cm

AC is parallel to DB -side lengths are 4 cm

<A & <D = 125 ˚

<B & <C = 55˚
