Three Parts:
1. Introduction:
- opening sentence to introduce the general topic, catch reader's attention- hook the reader
-In two or more sentences introduce your planet and outline the defining characteristics that you will be addressing in your body paragraphs
-introduce the name of your alien
-A sentence to indicate the adaptations that your alien has to successfully live on your planet
2. Body Paragraphs
- one full paragraph for each of the characteristics and the adaptation your alien has to cope with it
The paragraphs should be in the order in which they are mentioned in the introduction
Each paragraph should include:
-a topic sentence to introduce the particular characteristics of the planet
- one to three sentences to add scientific details that describe the characteristic
-one to three sentences to describe the features of your alien that allow it to live successfully with this characteristic
-a sentence that sums up the paragraph and leads to the next characteristics in a logical way
Example:
Saturn is very cold. It has a temperature of -285 degrees Fahrenheit. The rings are made up of ice, snow, rock and gases. Due to the cold, Satuloops have red eyes that shoot heat rays. The rays can heat and burn different objects when needed and melt ice for water. Satuloops also wears red bracelets on both wrists. The bracelets allow Satuloops to satay warm.
3. Conclusion
- A paragraph that restates each of the characteristics of your planet and a summarization of how your alien is well suited to live there.
- This paragraph should be around 4 to six sentences long
