Update & Figurative Language Daily Challenge

Weekly Update

Math- We are finishing up with the operations -Tomorrow we will be wrapping up long division

Literacy- We are highlighting different types of figurative language this week
We are finishing our draft copy of our Halloween Narratives this week
- In reading, we are still working on creating detailed responses with the different reading strategies

Science- We finished our science test today. Thank you to the people that took the time to prepare for this test. It was very clear to see who studied. Some of you spent a lot of time preparing for this. Well done!

Health- We are going to be working through a unit on nutrition this week

Social Studies- We will be starting our social studies unit next week :) More info to follow.

The Arts: I am sure by now many of you have heard about our Remembrance Day presentation. I will be communicating assembly times this week. It is STUNNING! I am so proud of everyone for their hard work.

Identify the type of figurative language that is being used in the sentence below.
  • He has learned gymnastics, and is as agile as a monkey.
  • This world is a sea of anonymous faces.
  • The sack fell into the river with a splash.
  • The flood raged over the entire village.
  • But a better butter makes a batter better.
  • The shadow of the moon danced on the lake.
  • My grandmother is as old as the hills.
  • She is as heavy as an elephant!
