Biodiversity Review Sheet
Classification
of Living Things: The purpose of most classification system is to organize
members into similar groups
Characteristics
of Life:
- Cells- all living
things have cells
- Metabolism- all
living things eat, drink, breath, excrete
- Growth- all living
things take material in to enlarge
- Reproduction- all
living things are able to produce copies of themselves
- Irritability- all
living things are able to react to change in their environment
- Adaption – all living
things are able to compete with each other for food and space to survive
- Movement- all living
things are able to move
Structural
Adaptations: Is the way plants or animals look in their habitat. The
plant/animal uses its structural adaption to survive. For example, speed,
